Proverbs 3

Overview
"Trust in the lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding"Proverbs 3:5. This is perhaps one of the most impactful verses in all of the bible, and it highlights the teachings of this chapter. Sometimes things just don't go the way that you want; it is just as simple as that. However, this verse and the Christian faith challenges you to see it in a different light. Trust the plan that God has for you, not the plan that you have laid out for yourself. Later in the chapter this is reinforced: "Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin of the wicked, when it comes, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught"Proverbs 3:25-26. Trust in the Lord.
Seeking wisdom is not always the easy path, Proverbs 1 tells us that the path of sinning may be enticing, but to never indulge. This chapter continues with this point, "Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gan from her is better than gain from silver"Proverbs: 3:13-14. The next few verses stress the same idea: value your relationship with God more than material possessions. Through wisdom and fearing the Lord, we reach for salvation and the important things in life.
The next and last part of Proverbs 3 is what I would consider just general lessons on how to be a good person to others. "Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you. Do not content with a man for no reason when he has done you no harm. Do not envy a man of violence and do not choose any of his ways"Proverbs 3:29-31.
